Oh man, the Library. The freaking Library.

The Order of the Library of the Neitherlands exists nowhere. Or, it exists in the space between places. It is a large, mystical bureaucratic organization that catalogues the lives of everyone who has ever lived. Ostensibly the Library wants to preserve knowledge, but underneath the veneer of paperwork, grey suits, and proper procedure, there lurks darkness, evil, and greed.

The first librarian we meet, Zelda, is really, really frustrating for me for a lot of the show. The Library was there for Zelda when she had nothing else, so she doesn't question anything she is told. She's a perfect example of how an intelligent person can let their blind belief in something manipulate them into doing something evil, something that directly conflicts with their personal credo. But after the Physical Kids enter her life, she cannot deny the corruption any longer. Without Zelda I don't think any of the successes after season 3 happen.

Then in season 5 Zelda does something shocking. The Library is invaded, and she has to make a sacrifice that no one would expect of her given her history and love for the place that saved her in her time of need.

Her color is a bruised chestnut. Landing somewhere between purple and brown, it is a really lovely color that goes well with All That Hard Glossy Armor.
