Screen Test
Screen Test
When moving pictures picked up steam, makeup artists who were used to dolling up actors for the stage were faced with the reality that their usual methods didn't translate to film at all! The original black and white film was orthochromatic, meaning it was most sensitive to light on the blue end of the color spectrum, so reds and oranges wouldn't show up, or they'd be too dark, or the actors just looked dirty.
Their solution was creative- they began using blue and purple for the base makeup, and used yellow for the darker tones on the face.
Screen Test was inspired by the ingenuity of these early artists. A pale buttery yellow base accents speckles of several blue and purple tones.
The sock set for Screen Test comes with a mini of The Most Famous Eyes in Hollywood.
