"Of all the gin joints, in all the towns, in all the world, she walks into mine."

Casablanca is truly timeless. It's a beautiful story of love and loss in Casablanca, Morrocco during Vichy occupation in WWII. Rick (played by Humphrey Bogart, the namesake of GASF's mascot) runs his cafe and helps refugees escape to America as much as he can. While helping these refugees, Ilsa (played by Ingrid Bergman), an old flame, shows up with her husband seeking to flee. The movie follows the former couple as they struggle with their past feelings for each other, and Rick is forced to decide if he cares more about Ilsa, or about his work helping the powerless.

It is so upsetting how relevant Casablanca is to this day. We should not have to worry about our loved ones being chased from their homes or persecuted for being who they were born to be. So in honor of the idea of love, of Rick sacrificing his own happiness to ensure that of others, I have created Here's Looking At You, Kid.

Here's Looking At You, Kid is a monochrome variegated made of several shades of grey and black. I wanted to convey the feeling of watching a black and white movie, and I don't know about you, but I think I nailed it.

The second picture shows how this color dyes up on some of our bases. The bases, left to right, are:

Superwash fingering, nonsuperwash fingering, 2 ply fingering, superwash DK, nonsuperwash DK. The superwash dyes up slightly more blue than the untreated wool, and the untreated wool dyes up a little more blended with less obvious transitions between the shades.
